Govindghat Travel Guide (Char Dham)
Govindghat is a small town in Chamoli district, located on the Joshimath-Badrinath Road. It is the roadhead and the starting point for trekking to Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers.
Govindghat is on the confluence of the Alaknanda and Lakshman Ganga rivers, it is roughly 22 km from Joshimath on NH58 at an altitude of 6000 feet. Hundreds of people, mostly Sikh pilgrims on way to the holy shrine of Hemkund Sahib and occasional tourists to the Valley of Flowers, arrive here every day. The huge part of this beautiful place was destroyed by the natural disaster or flood of Uttarakhand in 2013 which was restored after some time.

- Valley of Flower:- It is a national park which is spread over 87.20 sq kms area in the Himalayan range of Uttarakhand. This beautiful national park has 500 unique species of flower.
- Ghangaria:- It is sittuated at a distance of 13 km from Govindghat. It is the perfect destination for trekking and paradise for adventure lovers. May – October is the perfect time to visit this place.
- Badrinath Temple:- It is the one of the most popular and sacred place in Uttarakhand. This holy temple is a part of Char Dham. Badrinath Dham is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
- Mana Village:- It is a beautiful and the last village of India. It is aparadise for nature lovers. It is a popular tourist spot in Uttarakhand.
- Bheem Pul:- It is a stone bridge which is constructed by the brave strong warrior Bheem from the epic Mahabharat. Bhim puts a huge stone to construct a bridge between the river banks.
- Bedni Bugyal:- This beautiful place is situated at a distance of 25 km from Govind Ghat. This place is situated near the famous Roopkund lake.
